StudyManager Cloud Backup service offers database file access for our OnDemand customers and an affordable disaster recovery option for our OnPremises customers.

Cloud Backup for OnDemand Customers
If you’re currently using our OnDemand hosting to access your StudyManager application over the Internet, Cloud Backup creates a copy of your database at a secure cloud location only you can access. With Cloud Backup for OnDemand customers, you receive:

• Access to an actual physical copy of your database at a highly secure location only accessible by you. Unlike other vendors who lock-up their customers’ data in a mysterious, inaccessible cloud, we give you complete access to your database file.
• An efficient way for your IT staff to build and run their own custom queries and custom reports using a wide variety of third-party tools.* While we provide custom queries and reports for a fee, Cloud Backup gives your IT staff direct access to your database.
• Real-time, daily, weekly, and monthly backup options that meet the full range of your backup requirements and budgets.

*May require advanced Microsoft Transact-SQL knowledge and/or purchase of StudyManager developer assistance, depending on your querying and reporting needs.

Cloud Backup for OnPremises Customers
If your StudyManager software and database is installed at your own location, our Cloud Backup for OnPremise customers provides:

• A highly affordable disaster recovery solution that is significantly less expensive than failover solutions offered by disaster recovery vendors.
• A key safeguard against problems such as server failures, fire, natural disasters, or other catastrophic events that could make your StudyManager application unavailable for an extended length of time.
• Access to your StudyManager database online at our secure data center, if your on-premises system becomes unavailable for any reason. Cloud Backup gives you peace of mind that your StudyManager solution will be available, no matter what happens.
• Up to 30 days of system hosting at StudyManager’s data center at no additional charge while you recover from your system failure.
• Up to 2 readiness tests per calendar year. The readiness tests simulate a server-down at your location without requiring an actual service disruption. During these tests, the most recent copy of your database is transferred from the cloud to our production environment, and the system is made live online for testing.
• Real-time and nightly backup options, depending on your budget. With Real-time backup, data changes are replicated every few seconds from your SQL server to a private database server at StudyManager's data center over a VPN, so that there is virtually no data loss if your system must failover to our data center. With nightly backup, your data is backed up to the cloud nightly, and in the event that a failover is needed, at most one day’s worth of data would potentially be lost (assuming most data is entered during normal business hours).
