StudyManager is proud to present an exciting webinar series focused on overcoming the common challenges associated with managing clinical trials. Our latest webinar addresses pharmaceutical industry approaches to gathering performance metrics (KPIs) and relationship metrics (KRIs) and will explore common issues and challenges of deploying a standard and effective approach across teams.

A best practice approach which includes gathering quantitative and qualitative data from both sides of the sponsor–provider relationship for outsourced clinical trials will be outlined and sample, mock data will be presented. A process for using metrics and Lessons Learned data to drive process improvement will be discussed.
Maximizing Performance Metrics &
Implementing Lessons Learned Programs

Pharmaceutical and biotech companies are under enormous pressure to increase new drug development and adopt efficient means to implement and manage clinical trials while keeping costs contained. Senior-level management is interested in monitoring results and overall project performance, and many companies are adopting specific approaches to gathering performance metrics to evaluate time, cost and the overall quality of clinical trials. Companies who outsource to CROs and other service providers are continually seeking ways to improve operational efficiencies as well as benchmark provider performance and in the recent past, more interest has been placed on assessing the health of the relationships between pharmaceutical sponsors and CROs.

While many companies are implementing processes for gathering key performance indicator (KPI) data and relationship indicators (KRIs), no standards exist and some companies are struggling to find the right approach that will provide an adequate reflection of true performance and that sufficiently take into account the quality of deliverables.

As part of this webinar, industry data gathered by The Avoca Group focused on industry needs for greater operational efficiency and approaches for gathering performance and relationship metrics will be presented. We will also focus on industry practices related to gathering "Lessons Learned" data. This will include the gaps and challenges as well as leading practices for implementing Lessons Learned Programs which enable a sharing of information across teams.

The participants of the webinar will have the opportunity to provide their own perspective through responding to a number of polling questions. We will compare and contrast data gathered through the Avoca Industry Survey with the responses from webinar participants.

Learning Objectives
  • Participants will gain an understanding of the way pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies and CROs approach the gathering of key performance data and relationship metrics including typical metrics that are gathered, the challenges of some approaches and leading practices
  • Participants will gain knowledge about the value of Lessons Learned Programs and ways to leverage Lessons Learned data to drive improvements
  • Participants will be introduced to technology enablers, such as Clinical Trial Dashboards for aggregating data in real time and proactively managing the progress of clinical trials
